The aarti timing moves with the season — winter's around 5:30 to 6:30 PM, summer pushes closer to 6:30 to 7:15 PM, since it's tied to sunset. Get there an hour early at least.

A regular evening pulls a few thousand people to the ghat, but during festival weeks that number jumps into the tens of thousands — show up late and you're watching from three rows back instead of standing right at the water's edge.

Leave early. Mansa Devi gets crowded fast once the first big tour groups arrive around mid-morning. The ropeway – locally called Udan Khatola – runs somewhere around Rs. 215 to Rs. 300 round trip depending on the season and whichever counter you buy from, and a combined Mansa Devi-Chandi Devi ticket usually works out cheaper than buying separately, generally in the Rs. 340 to Rs. 510 range. Confirm the exact figure at the ticket window; published rates online disagree with each other because they get revised more often than most sites update.

From Mansa Devi, cross over to Chandi Devi, sitting on the opposite hill above the river – the two are almost always visited together. After finishing around noon, we will drive you over to Rishikesh, which takes just about an hour. Check into your property, and head out to see the iconic Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula.

In the evening, pull up a spot at Triveni Ghat for the famous Ganga Aarti. Wake up early for breakfast, then prepare for a thrill-packed morning on the river. Head straight to Shivpuri for the famous white-water rafting, where you’ll navigate through crashing rapids and try a bit of an exciting cliff jumping into the cold mountain pool before returning.

By afternoon, we will take you towards the peaceful Swargashram side to visit "Chaurasi Kutiya" – the legendary Beatles Ashram – where the iconic British band famously stayed in 1968 to study transcendental meditation.

The entry ticket costs a modest amount at the gate, around Rs. 200 for Indians, and it’s completely worth the visit even if you’re not particularly interested in the band. Take your time exploring the abandoned dome-shaped meditation huts, which are now beautifully covered in vibrant graffiti artwork and murals.

Later, stroll past the nearby markets to grab some local food, check out unique bookshops, or spend some quiet time along the sandy riverbanks. Close your evening at Parmarth Niketan Ghat to experience their spectacular evening Ganga Aarti, which feels much more intimate and spiritually moving compared to the crowded ghats elsewhere.

If your dates fall within the seasonal window – roughly mid-September through June, with the river closed for safety during the monsoon months of July to mid-September – an early morning walk along the ghats for a peaceful sunrise view is worth building into this last day.
